Craig Yenzer
Head Coach

Craig Yenzer, head coach, graduated from Crescent High School in
Crescent, Oklahoma, where he was a member of the state runner-up and state
quarter-final football team his junior and senior years. He attended and played
football for the University of Tulsa and graduated from Oklahoma State
University with degrees in mathematics and physical education. Coach Yenzer
began his coaching career in Newkirk, Oklahoma, and spent five years coaching
in Tuttle, Oklahoma before moving to Hereford, Texas, in the fall of 1986.
While in Hereford for sixteen years, he served as an Assistant Varsity Football
Coach, the Defensive Coordinator and the Offensive Coordinator before being
named Athletic Director and Head Coach in 1996. Coach Yenzer has received
numerous coaching awards.
His awards include: District 3-4A Football
Coach of the Year (three times), South Plains Football Coach of the Year,
Panhandle Football Super Team Coach of the Year and Panhandle Sports Hall of
Fame Football Coach of the Year. Since residing in Midland, he has been awarded
Reebok Team Uniforms 2002 5-A Coach of the Year by Dave Campbell's Texas
Football Magazine, Texas Football.com 5-A Coach of the Year, and All Permian
Basin Team 2002 Coach of the Year and in 2003 and 2006 he was chosen as
"Midland's Favorite Coach." He was recently chosen to be a member of
the selection committee for the West Texas High School All-Star team. He and
his staff have been nominated twice to coach the Texas High School Coaches
All-Star Game and in 2004 he was nominated to serve as President-elect of the
Texas High School Coaches Association. He has also been on the Board of
Directors for the Texas High School Coaches Association. In 2006, he was
featured on a segment of High School Extra, as a "Coach Who Makes a
Difference" and most recently was selected by the UIL to represent Texas
in the 2006 Gatorade National Coaches Council.
Craig and his wife, Tammy, a teacher of Fine
Arts at Fannin Elementary, have two sons. Clay, is a coach at Midland Freshman.
Tyler and his wife, Amy, are graduates of Texas Tech University where Tyler
played for the Red Raider football team. Tyler is currently working in the
petroleum land business in Midland. Craig and Tammy are members of the First
Baptist Church in Midland.

Jim Conger

Conger, Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach, was previously a coach
in Hereford, Texas for six years. Before Hereford, he coached in Texarkana. He
also coached the offensive line at West Texas A&M University for five
years, and served a year in Floydada. He played high school football at
Arlington Sam Houston and also played on the college level for Eastern New
Mexico University, where he graduated in 1985. He and his wife Cristi, a
teacher, have two daughters, Sydney, 19, a Freshman at Midland College and
Regan, 16, a sophmore at Midland High |

Shane Fletcher

Fletcher, defensive coordinator and linebacker coach, is a 1977 graduate of
Midland High. Coach Fletcher attended College of the Canyons J.C. in Valencia
California and transferred to Eastern New Mexico University where he played
football and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelors of Education and in 1989
with a Masters of Education. Coach Fletchers coaching career began
in 1981 in Littlefield Tx. He then moved to Melrose NM. as Head Football Coach.
He also has coached in Portales NM., Dumas Tx., and Borger Tx. For the Past
seven years Coach Fletcher has been the HC and Athletic coordinator at Midland
Freshman. Shane and his wife Vicki, an elementary counselor for MISD, have two
children: Mason 17, and Morgan 14. In addition to his many coaching
achievements, Coach Fletcher is also credited with inventing the
Corn Dog. |

Chris Moralez
Defensive Line Coach

Chris
Moralez, Defensive Line Coordinator for the Bulldogs, graduated from Fort Lewis
College in Durango, Colorado, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Exercise
Science and played linebacker for the Skyhawks. Since then, he coached in the
MHS system at San Jacinto for 2 years and at Midland Freshman for 1 year before
moving to Midland High School. This is his 8th year at MHS.He and his wife
Audrey have a 6 year old daughter named Taylor and one year old twins, Micah
and Ty. |
Bobby Alvarez
Assistant Coach

Bobby
Alvarez, Assistant Offensive Line Coach, graduated from Stamford High School in
1988. He attended Hardin-Simmons University for three years then completed his
Bachelors in Physical Education and Psychology at the University of Texas of
the Permian Basin. He is no stranger to the Bulldogs having served as the
athletic director and head coach at San Jacinto Junior High for four years. The
previous nine years he was on the coaching staff at San Jacinto as a seventh
and eighth grade coach. Coach Alvarez and his wife, Josie, a realtor with
Legacy Realtors, have two daughters, Sarah, 16 and Macy, 13. |
Cal Neatherlin
Runing Backs Coach

Neatherlin graduated from Sul Ross State University in 1996 with a B.S. in P.E.
and English. Cal is the MHS Running Backs Coach and Special Teams Coordinator.
His coaching experience includes Splendora Middle School and Goddard Junior
High. This will be Coach Neatherlin's tenth year at Midland High School. He and
his wife, Kim, a registered nurse, have three children, Shelby, 13 and Karsen,
9 and Seth 2. |
Jeff Streun
Secondary Coach

Jeff
Streun, Secondary Coach, graduated from Hereford High School in 1984. He
attended West Texas State University and graduated with a degree in Math
Education. Coach Streun began his coaching career in McLean. He has also
coached in Denver City and was the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at
Ozona High School. This will be Coach Steun's fifth year at Midland High. Coach
Streun's wife, Becky, is employed as a data clerk at Midland High School. They
have two children, Hunter, 15 and Jayci, 10.

Bryan Sledge
Receivers Coach

Bryan
Sledge, Receivers Coach, grew up and graduated from Coahoma High School. He
loved football in high school and continued his career at San Angelo State
University playing as quarterback and punter. He graduated from the University
of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2002. He has taught and coached at San Jacinto
Junior High School, Midland Freshman and is now in his third year at Midland
High School. Bryan also is the assistant girl's basketball coach. Coach Sledge
enjoys playing golf and being with his family and their dogs. Coach Sledge and
his wife Erica have two daughters, Alyssa and Suri.

Tight End Coach

Lopez, tight end coach, began his coaching career in Midland. He coached
offensive backs and receivers at Goddard Junior High for three years. He then
coached defensive secondary and was the special teams coordinator at Midland
Freshman for three additional years. This is coach Lopez's first year as
Varsity Tight Ends Coach. He played high school football at Ft. Stockton,
Texas. He attended San Angelo State University where he played football and
graduated in 2001. His wife Amanda teaches and coaches at His wife Amanda
teaches and coaches JV Volleyball at Midland High School. They have a son,
Caleb, age 12.

Tim Anuskiewicz

Anuskiewicz, [coach A-Z] is serving his sixth season at Midland High, serving
from 2002-2005 and 2009 to the present. He is coaching the Safeties for the MHS
defense and will lead the Special Teams for the Bulldogs. Coach Anuskiewicz
served as AD-Head football coach at Borger High School. Other coaching stops
include Canyon High, Hereford High, and Bonham Jr. High in Odessa. He is a
graduate of West Texas State University where he was a running back from
1988-1991. Coach Anuskiewicz and his wife Chrystal, a teacher, have three
children. Jordan, a junior at Texas Tech University, Caleigh 13, and Jackson

Chad Leonard
Defensive Ends Coach

Chad
Leonard, defensive end coach, graduated from high school in Ankenny, Iowa in
1996. He attended college at Northwest Missouri State University where he
earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education and played running back for the
Bearcats. He earned his Master's Degree in Business in 2005 and began his
career at Mountain View High School in Arizona. This will be Coach Leonard's
ninth year coaching football and he has spent his last two years at Midland
Freshman. He and his wife Maria have a 2 year old daughter, Elena, and are
expecting their second child this sumer. Chad enjoys watching football, playing
golf, and spending time with his family. |
